Somany Private Natural Stone Group has fully mechanized quarrying operations in various locations in India. Multicolor Classic slate from Kund is best known slate in world which is solely owned by Somany Group which are mined and leased to various slate exporters in India. Multicolor Classic Slate quarries are located in the foothills of the Aravali Mountain Ranges approximately 120 km South West of New Delhi in (Kund) Rewari. The materials are split vertically from the hills and occur in a naturally layered formation. The materials are recovered by splitting vertically from the surface and are split into easily workable slabs / pieces at the quarry site itself before being transported to the factory / yard for further processing.

Machinery, Equipment Used and Production Process
Caterpillar Equipments for Mining, CAL II/III of ML Shah for calibration. Strapping machines for packing cartons and stretch wrapping machines for palletisation are used as per requirements from clients.

Environmental Protection Norms/Practices
Permission granted by State Pollution Control Boards. Unusable wastes of stones are generally purchased by cement industry and also by road construction companies for use in road metal. Water for cooling tools is treated and recycled as per government norms

Production Process
Splitting, Sizing, Calibration, Crate packing and container loading are carried under Sun proof Shed. Fumigation Room support fumigation as ISPM Standards.

Yard Operations

Processed materials are systematically stacked at the yard and packed into wooden crates. Hand cut materials and handicrafts are prepared at these yards employing skilled artisans who have been doing this work as a tradition over generations. All materials are packed in these yards and loaded into containers or sent to Inland Container Depots by truck for export containerization.

In House quality checks are carried through out production process and supply of material.

Facilities/Techniques Used for Conducting Quality Controls

Visual inspection and selection of raw materials
Determination of correct surface to be made usable and processing the other surface
Splitting and sorting materials into various thickness range
Sizing and checking diagonals of materials, sizes and right angles with metal scales and placing materials against each other on a true planed surface
Calibration of materials into required thickness. Checking thickness with help of venire calipers and placing on a true planed surface to check for bows and warps
Systematically stacking materials
Materials checked for breakages and chipping at time of packing into crates for shipment. If cartons are required, materials are checked at the time of placing into cartons. Cartons are strapped with an automatic machine and then placed into crates
Depending on shipping company, crates may be stuffed into containers at our factory or loaded on a flat rack truck and sent to the container depot

Material Testing

On requirements of Clients the products are tested through ASTM Standards & BUREAU VERITAS.

Sample Availability and Policy	Samples if required are sent by courier in case recipients provide their account numbers with courier company and pay the charges directly to them. We may dispatch samples ourselves by courier against a token advance which we adjust in the bill when order is placed
Delivery and Product Guarantees	Most of the standard specification products are available ex stock and take about 3 weeks to be shipped on board the ocean vessel. Specific requirements may take longer to process depending upon the specifications
Payment Terms and Conditions	Payment at sight or against Letter of Credit
Delivery and Product / Warranties	Buyers are aware that products are natural stones and therefore variation in colors, texture, thickness and size have to be expected. We take utmost care to ensure that processed items are produced within acceptable tolerance limits
